About
When
you step into English House you cannot help but be swept back in
time. Tall ceilings, a beautiful chandelier, and lots of windows
invite you into this historic home.
As
pioneers in Mineola, the English family was among the first
to build on historic Johnson Street, a mere 3 blocks from downtown.
"Babe" English lived in the house until his death
at 90 years. He willed the house to his sister who celebrated
her 102nd birthday while living here. As an honor to this
family, we proudly use the name English House.
English
House has been renovated to keep the integrity and charm as
originally designed. We successfully have established
a historical marker.
Once
you step inside, we encourage you to leave your busy life behind.
Feel free to make yourself comfortable in the living area, or sit on the
porch and watch the sun chase the shadows.
In
the evening when you retreat to your room you will discover that everything has been appointed for your comfort. In the morning a bountiful
homemade breakfast will greet you.
We
have made every effort to anticipate your needs and are looking forward to
your stay!!!
With
warmest regards,
Larry
& Sue Jones, owners and hosts
